Ford Aspire Tires

The 90s-era Ford Aspire (aka Ford Festiva) was a subcompact joint venture with Kia. The Aspire was a basic commuter car in three-door, five-door, or four-door notchback sedan body styles. The first-generation Aspire debuted in 1986 as a re-badged Mazda 121. The somewhat bigger, longer 2nd-gen Aspire was a collaborative effort between Ford and Kia, with a definite Ford family resemblance to its more aerodynamic body style. Ford Aspire models were basic transportation with few options available; while Aspires were capable of as much as 42 mpg on the highway, they were also underpowered and agonizingly slow. The Aspire was discontinued after model year 1997 when it was replaced by the Fiesta in the Ford lineup.

Here at FORTLUFT, our team has gone through the inventory and compiled some of the best premium tire options for your Ford Aspire, including summer, all-season, and touring tire choices. We then used our SimpleScore system to assign a numerical value for each tire’s traction, handling, and longevity categories. Ready? Let’s go in for a closer look:
1. Montreal Eco-2 – Best All-Season Tire
Let’s kick this list off with an affordable all-season tire that offers good wear properties, low rolling resistance, all-season traction, capable handling, and an incredible ride: the Eco-2 from Montreal. The Montreal Eco-2 chalks up SimpleScore ratings of 7.9 for traction, 8.5 for longevity, 8.2 for handling, and an overall average of 8.2. Montreal backs the Eco-2 with a 45,000 mile manufacturer’s treadwear warranty. Sporty handling results from a notched center rib that enhances steering response and a reinforced shoulder design that resists deformation and tread squirm during hard cornering. Traction is a strong point, too; wide circumferential grooves, angled grooves, angled tread blocks, and open shoulders help channel water and slush away from the tire’s contact patch to boost performance, traction, and control in wet or wintry weather.
2. Petlas Elegant PT311 – Best
