Chrysler Crossfire Tires
Marketed from 2004 to 2008, the Chrysler Crossfire was a German-built performance coupe that was also offered as a convertible. The Crossfire was available with a 332 horsepower turbo 3.2L V6 engine for strong performance and was offered in Base and Limited trim levels before it was discontinued. Produced during the Daimler-Chrysler era, the Crossfire shared about 80% of its mechanicals and platform with the Mercedes-Benz 1st-gen SLK. It was a refined and stylish sports coupe that was powered by an M-B 3.2L V6 that put out 215 hp, with a limited number being equipped with a supercharged AMG version of that same engine, with well over 300 hp on tap. The SRT-6 iteration was capable of a 0-60 run in under 5 seconds, while still being rated at 17 mpg city-24 mpg highway. The Crossfire was equipped with an electronically controlled rear wing that would only deploy when the vehicle got past a certain preset speed.
At FORTLUFT, we’ve rounded up some of the best Chrysler Crossfire tires, including all-season, ultra-high-performance (UHP), and winter tire choices, based on SimpleScore. Ready? Let’s go in for a closer look:
1. Pirelli P Zero – Best Ultra-High-Performance tire
Here’s where it all started with the P Zero family of tires. The Pirelli P Zero was originally introduced as the OEM tire of choice for select models from Aston-Martin, Mercedes-Benz AMG, Audi, Ferrari, and Lamborghini, and it’s not surprising. The P Zero gets outstanding steering response, braking, cornering, and road manners, starting with its silica- and carbon black-rich tread formulation and an asymmetric tread with circumferential and lateral grooves. The P Zero is stable and rigid at high speeds and during hard cornering thanks to a polyester casing that’s topped with twin steel belts, polyamide cord plies, and an integrated nylon-aramid cord layer for a handling SimpleScore of 8.8. Traction is also excellent in wet or dry weather, thanks to the features we just mentioned – SimpleScore of 8.8.
