The Lexus ES series of compact luxury sedans debuted in 1989, and the ES250 was the first generation; in keeping with Lexus naming conventions, it was powered by a 2.5L V6 that delivered better-than-adequate power and performance. The ES250 is available in F Sport, Luxury, Ultra Luxury and Base trim levels. For this make-model, Bridgestone Turanza EL440 or Michelin Energy Saver A-S tires would have been OEM.
When it’s time to shop 2021 Lexus ES250 tires, remember that tire sizes could be 215-55R17 or 235-45R18, so be sure of the correct size you need. There are some great options out there; check out tires like the Michelin Energy Saver A-S (with 55k mile warranty), Kumho Solus TA31 (60k mile warranty) or Goodyear Eagle RS-A. For more spirited performance, check out summer-ultra-high-performance tires like the Kumho Ecsta PS31 or Goodyear Efficient Grip. Just remember that summer-UHP tires use a softer, stickier tread formulation that will stiffen up and lose traction on colder days. Summer-UHP tires shouldn’t be used if temperatures are below 40-45 degrees F.
